We recommend that you do not leave your car or truck the landing if you are planning more than a day trip. Ask a family member or friend to pick them up. Make sure that you leave a float plan with others for your safety or in case of an emergency.
As you leave the landing you will paddle right and the this section of the trail will continue until you reach Santee State Park on the right bank of the lake. You may also paddle the alternative route through Stump Hole Swamp which is on your left as you paddle towards the park.
Alternative trip to historic Fort Watson and the Santee Indian Mound can be taken by paddling across the lake before you reach the I-95 bridge. Make sure the weather conditions are good as you will need to cross a larger body of water.
